EYELAW means and concerns with the legal works, which is limited by the law in the Republic of Egypt to a specific professional category under the constitution and the provisions of the Law on Advocacy. This law stipulates in its articles that no one else may practice it. This is according to several requirements, including the degree of registration in the Bar Association. This is provided by our institution through a team under the banner of the various degrees of enrollment, starting from the general and primary schedule degree, passing through the appeal degree, ending with the cassation degree, which enables its owner to appear before all courts in the country, especially the supreme courts such as the cassation, constitutional, and higher administrative courts.
The eye, in all languages, is the organ of sight for living beings. Also, this term is used in the Arabic language as the heart, essence and pillar of things. It is used in its indication of great care and intense attention.
The books of heavenly laws used it with these indications, as the Torah mentioned in the Old Testament from the Bible that the eye, considering it the dearest thing a person possesses. It was said in the Book of Exodus (21: 23-25): {And if any harm follows, it is given life for life, and eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth}
It was also said in the book of Deuteronomy (19-21): {Your eye shall not pity, life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth}.
Christianity fulfilled this meaning in the gospel from the Bible by saying in Matthew (18: 9): {If your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter life with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hellfire}.
Matthew (6: 22-23) and Luke (11: 34-36) said: {The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light and if your eye is evil, then your whole body will be dark}.
Then the Qur’an, the seal of the books, and this word was added to the Divine Self of Allah in several places, including: {Build the ark under our watchful eyes and revelation}, {And I placed upon you a love from Me and that you shall be raised under My eye.}, {and be patient to judge your Lord, because you are in our eyes}.
And it was mentioned at the end of the verses: “Then you will see it with the eye of certainty,” meaning the eye of truth and truth.
“The eye” in the ancient Egyptian civilization is the most famous symbols used at all, and perhaps the most widely known is the Horus mascot’s eye. The eye which means protection in ancient Egypt by the eye of the powerful Falcon Shahin and the sacred eye that protects human in his life and death.
Therefore, it was not surprising that the Renaissance sculptor Hans Genge took the blindfolded eye as a symbol of justice in his immortal statue as one of the most well-known symbols of the legal system around the whole world.
Hence it is clear that the word (eye) was associated with the values of justice, and the messages of truth in the heavenly laws as well as in the great ancient and modern human civilizations.
Accordingly, the name of this entity was not just the name of a legal institution that engages in law practice only, but rather a building whose owners derive the spirit of the message of law and its essence through its development in religions, laws and ancient civilizations. This is to be a starting point that adds values to humanity based on pillars that have been stable throughout human history, protecting and preserving rights, and taking care of the people’s interests, regardless of gender, color or religion.
Our vision is rooted in the same principles as the law, considering advocacy as a partner of the judiciary in achieving justice, recognizing the right of every individual to a dignified life, and acknowledging the protection bestowed by legislators upon humans and their movements, safeguarding life, property, and honor.
We believe that life can only thrive under such protection, and its preservation requires this maintenance. Thus, the state of an individual and their affairs will be upright, ensuring peace of mind regarding oneself, possessions, and reputation, thereby establishing societal balance among individuals and institutions.
Therefore, the message of advocacy must be powerful and resolute, unafraid of authority, and not weighing the force of power or influence of an institution, as long as it stands on the side of justice and its mission, being one of the greatest messages from heaven to earth.
